Abschiedsworte von Lindamandla

Anfang Januar 2018 mussten wir unseren ehemaligen Lab Manager Linamandla Deliwe verabschieden.
Linamandla was born in Cape Town in 1993 and grew up in King William’s Town in the Eastern Cape. From an early age, he showcased leadership potential, both at school and in his community.
After completing his matric, Linamandla attended the False Bay Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College where he graduated with a Safety in Society (Criminology) NQF Level 4 and Public Management N6 qualification respectively. In 2015, he was elected as Campus Chairperson of the Student’s Representative Council (SRC) for Westlake Campus, as well as the Executive President for False Bay TVET College.
In his capacity as SRC President, he represented the student community on the College’s senior staff structures, including the College Council and Academic Board. Linamandla’s term of office as SRC President ended in December 2015, but he has continued to lead as an active citizen in his community, most notably, he established a youth-based organisation named Vrygrond Young Minds – a platform to grow young leaders. He was also Speaker of the Western Cape Provincial Youth Parliament in 2017. Linamandla continues to advocate for sports development in his community and continuously coordinates fundraising initiatives to raise funds for his local sports teams.
He is now serving as the Deputy Chairperson of the School Governing Body (SGB) at iThemba Primary School.
In 2013 he became part of the Vrygrond Computer Lab as the volunteer Facilitator for Basic Computer Course.  His passion is to give Education support to the people who come from disadvantaged communities like Vrygrond, he has contributed tremendously to the growth of Vrygrond Computer Lab. He had a number of linkages with different orgasations. He also represented the lab on the Vrygrond Community Development Forum Plenary council.
In 2016 Linamandla was appointed as the Lab Administration, which he had to deal daily operations of the Lab. Unfortunately, late 2017 Linamandla had to resigned as the Computer Facilitator and Lab Administrator. He continued to support the Lab even if he had resigned from the duties of the managing and teaching.
